Duel To RememberDec. 4 -- For all the talk about this being a disappointing, underperforming rookie class, it sure is an exciting one.

And Tuesday night in Philadelphia may have been one of the most thrilling rookie duels in recent memory.

It certainly was historic.

In their second matchup in the last seven days, Michael Carter-Williams and Victor Oladipo put on a show, each tallying triple-doubles in the Sixers' 126-125 win in double-overtime.

According to Elias Sports Bureau it was the first time opposing rookies have had triple-doubles in the same game.

-- Carter-Williams' line: 27 points (11-for-19 FG, 1-5 3FG), 12 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals in 47 minutes.

-- Oladipo's line: 26 points (8-for-18 FG, 0-for-5 3FG), 10 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals in 52 minutes.

"Clearly, there's a competitive side to it," Carter-Williams said of his matchup with Oladipo. "But this is a team game. It's not me versus Oladipo. It's Sixers versus Orlando."

MCW might have said all the right things after leading his team to the win, but the two clearly get up for their matchups and this could turn into a nice little rivalry this year -- they play again Feb. 26 in Philly and March 2 in Orlando -- and for years to come.

"Those are two young, talented players," Sixers coach Brett Brown said afterward. "Competitive, went at each other."

Get used to it.

-- Drew Packham

Dropped out: Steven Adams, Nate Wolters, Mason Plumlee

Just missed the cut: Adams, Plumlee, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Wolters, Cody Zeller
